Warchild's FJR1300 Hand Grip Farkle

The Endurance Rider's Classic Configuration:
-= BMW Sport Grips, Top Gun Bar End Weights, Vista Cruise =-

Sadly, the Yamaha FJR1300 stock hand grip is quite long, 135mm, which is about 9mm longer than the grips from BMW, Honda, etc. In order to preclude any unsightly gaps between bar end weights and switch housings, final BMW handgrip orientation needs to be a little more outboard of where the stock grips normally reside.

No problem; to line all hand controls back up, just slide the switch houses and clutch/brakes levers outboard as well, right?

Wrong.

The throttle side controls can be moved with no problem, but the clutch-side switch housing does not want to move, so we take it apart to find out why:

Well, well. There is a plastic guide (red arrow) on the back of the clutch-side switch housing that fits into a slot in the left handlebar, preventing the unit from relocating:

This is certainly nothing a Dremal can't take care of in 10 seconds...

Clutch-lever and switch housing can now be slid down to the left. Clutch-side now looks clean and sanitary:

Front brake level slid outboard approx 4mm, Vista Cruise takes up most of gap.

Job complete! Heavy bar ends quell residual vibes and look simply shit-hot! Vista Cruise looks OEM factory, too.
