"The Don Moses Effect" is a classic Long Distance motorcycle competitive event that is 35 hours in duration.
Check-in begins on Friday, July 23, 2021. The competitive riding begins Saturday morning, July 24, 2021 and ends Sunday afternoon, July 25, 2021.
The start and finish is in Ely, Nevada.
We are pleased to once again offer participants both Competitive and Slacker classes.
To earn status as a Don Moses Effect finisher, riders must meet minimum levels of achievement in the following three areas:
1) Select and complete at least one of Multiple Routing Options offered
2) Achieve the minimum amount of bonuses for your selected Route
3) Ride a minimum of 1098 corrected miles

Gatekeeper begins release of riders at 4:30am, July 24, 2021.

This is an unhinged Wild West event. Believe it.

No Tech Inspection. Maximum fuel capacity is unlimited.
A satellite tracking device (SPOT/InReach/equivalent) is required!
There is one virtual checkpoint that is optional, but you want this one, trust us.
Be advised this is an extremely photo-intensive event.
It goes without saying that the Coronavirus pandemic status as of June/July, 2021 timeframe will drive the decision to actually hold this event.
It is entirely possible it may not happen, if the prevailing status still won't allow for safe operation. Even if we start taking TDME registrations, we will collect no fees unless we are convinced this event happens.
